As many gyaru ('trashy girls') matured they became kogaru - or high class gals - adopting the trappings of Hollywood trash fashion. The contemporary hybrid of kogal and gyaru styles eschews the panda-eye make-up but retains the bouffant hair, amber tans and revealing clothes.
