After returning from Europe as a GI in WII, my father (Charles Polhemus) went into partnership with another ex-GI from Neptune ('Tommy') in a local grocery shop in Neptune City, New Jersey, USA - only a block or two from where his parents lived on 9th Ave. News to me that Charles was known as 'Cholly'. A few years later my father quit this partnership on the grounds that, unlike Tommy, he didn't want to open on Sunday. Next Charles Polhemus became a truck driver - driving nights one week, then days the next week.
