Straight Outta Compton (see cap 2nd from left) - from it's inauspicious origins in mid 70s NYC Hip Hop music and style has spread around the globe. (It's interesting that mid 70s NYC was a destitute and near out for the count city yet it was precisely at that moment that, within just a few miles, NYC gave birth to Hip Hop, Disco and Punk. Likewise, Japanese streetstyle really took off not in the good times but when the Japanese economic bubble burst.)
