I think a used-shoe shop in Kensington Market called 'Ad Hoc' - can't remember this lady's name unfortunately but I believe she was the owner. Who are these people who have the entrepreneurial spirit to open a little shop/market stall? Did a fair number of them come from rag trade families? I think it's unique to British fashion that in this country so many successful British designers (think Red or Dead in Camden Market, Vivienne Westwood at the wrong end of the King's Rd) start in such a small way.
