Rev Joseph W Chasey - [early scan Feb11#74]

My mother's father was a Methodist minister and, at one point at least, in charge of all Methodist churches in the area around Albany, New York State. He also did very well out of the AT&T stocks he was able to hold onto during the depression. One Saturday night in 1941 he took his family from Albany to New York City to see the film That Hamilton Woman - anything to do with ships and the sea a particular interest to him (coming from a family with many professional fishermen). Some delays meant that the film ran a little late. With ten minutes to go before the finish, Rev Chasey ushered his family out of the theatre to avoid their being at the 'pictures' on a Sunday.
