New Romantic clubber (now world-renowned) fashion designer Stephen Linnard?) at (I believe) a one off club (somewhere new the King's Rd if memory serves) to (I believe) celebrate the arrival of the new decade (the 80s). Those not in the know like me and my (then) wife Lynn Procter took this to signal a futuristic theme and wore shiny pvc but those in the loop adopted a post-modern retro (in italics) vibe
